Introduction
During his earthly mission, Jesus went about healing people of various infirmities. One of those infirmities was ignorance due to lack of adequate information concerning certain things especially as regards spiritual and religious matters. By, with and through his wonderful teachings, Jesus healed many people and liberated them from spiritual darkness. This Sunday Gospel reading presents one of those healings. Jesus uses various parables to explain to the people the nature of the kingdom of God and the conditions for entering it. The fourth chapter of the Gospel according to Mark contains at least three parables: the parable of the sower (4:1–20); the parable of.….….
The parable of the growing seed
“He also said, the kingdom of God is as if someone would scatter seed on the ground, and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow, he does not know how. We live in a world where only the middle-class and the upper-class citizens are recognized. The lower-class citizens are of course, the foot match of the.….…
Conclusion
The message of the parable of the mustard seed is that the kingdom of God had insignificant beginning. Jesus whom the Jews despised and rejected started it with his equally insignificant number of Twelve disciples, but gradually, this kingdom has continued to expand even till today. The message of Jesus is that the kingdom of God is like a mustard seed that has grown into a mighty tree. Generally, fanatics think they have to torture and suffer themselves for them to enter the kingdom of God. Such is absolutely not necessary. This is
